Forerunner (aki) selected by Pallas Projects for the 6th Biennale of Painting Zagreb is a modular timber frame building system based on the designs of Ken Isaacs’ Living Structures. The wooden members of varying lengths are based on the dimensions of a standard plywood sheet. The work is designed as a domestic scaffolding built to disrupt and test the formal setting of the gallery space. Forerunner (aki) was first developed for an exhibition in the Mermaid Arts Centre, Wicklow in 2017 and supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and Wicklow County Council.
